The mighty men of King David [and God] displayed certain qualities. Though their war was against flesh in the OT, these qualities have direct correlations to our battle against our sworn enemy on earth in the present. Read these to yourself, out loud, and see if it does not enflame your passions! Mighty men of God:
- Strengthen themselves together (Heb. 10:25) [note: this is the first quality mentioned, the strength of community!]
- Station themselves and defend their territory (Hab. 2:1)
- Bring about great victories (1 Cor. 15:57)
- Break through the enemy’s ranks (2 Cor. 10:4-5)
- Put their lives at jeopardy (John 5:13)
- Win a name for themselves (Phil. 2:9)

- Are trained for battle (Heb. 5:14)
- Have faces like Lions and run like Gazelles (Isa. 40:31)
