(note: not in John, but in the others, he says to the disciples I will make you fishers of men.)

Nicodemus – be born again, practice truth

the Samaritan woman at the well – drink of the living water and worship the father in spirit and in truth. The disciples: look to the fields white for harvest, reaping and sewing.

discussions with the Pharisees – all about who he is, his relationship to the father and salvation

to the sheep, he says this is the work of God that you believe in him and he sent. Jesus the bread of life and why he came: to save people. More discussions with the Pharisees, all about him being the bread of life, believing.

to the sheep – judge with righteous judgment. All who thirst need to go to him and out of his heart will flow living water.

to the sheep – he is the light of the world, and we need to follow him to walk in light. To the Pharisees – believe or die in your sins. Everything he said to the Pharisees was about them and him.To the sheep – abiding his word do not be a slave to sin, the sun will set you free.

to the sheep – believe in the son of God and worship him

of the sheep – they hear his voice he knows them and they follow

to the sheep – he who believes in Jesus shall never die

to the shepherds – he loves his life, must lose it those who serve him must follow him. To the sheep – walk in the light and become sons of light. Believe, believe, believe.

–16: to the shepherds at the Passover – the one who is sent is not greater than the one who sent him, they are chosen, Love, one another as he has loved us. They would do greater works than he did, all of the teaching on the Holy Spirit, abiding in him, and bearing a fruit, a lot about keeping his commandments, laying down their lives for others, the friends versus the slaves, he appointed them to Bear fruit that remains. He chose them out of the world, they will be persecuted, they will keep the disciples words because they kept his. They will bear witness because they were with him from the beginning.

as the father sent Christ into the world, he has sent them into the world. Then in verse 20, he changes his prayer to “all who will believe in me: the sheep! Then twice he says that they may be one in us that the world may believe the father sent him. He says that inverse 21 and 23. Community! Then inverse 24 he says that they may be with me where I am.
